Congratulations to our new partners

Writer: Konrad AltKonrad Alt

I’m excited to congratulate Mary Dent, Patrick Haggerty, and Christina Hunt-Fuhr on their promotions to Managing Director of Klaros Advisors and admission to the Klaros Group partnership.

Mary Dent
Mary Dent

Mary initially joined us as a Senior Advisor in 2022, and in early 2024 became a Senior Director and our General Counsel. Her work at Klaros has focused primarily on building effective partnerships between banks and fintechs. Mary brings to this work expertise gained both as an executive and as a board member, working with innovative banks (Silicon Valley Bank and Green Dot), lending fintechs (SeedFi and Insikt), fintechs focused on savings (Vestwell and SeedFi), and other companies in the banking and financial services industries (Banking Circle and Woodruff Sawyer). Early in her career, Mary spent seven years in DC, including as counsel to the Senate Judiciary and Labor Committees. This wealth of experience has made Mary a valued source of expertise, insight, and empathy to the boards and executives she works with at Klaros.

Patrick and Christina both joined as Klaros Directors in 2021 and were subsequently promoted to Senior Directors.

Patrick Haggerty
Patrick Haggerty

Patrick brought a wealth of knowledge from a decade of service in the OCC law department, where he provided counsel to the agency’s Bank Supervision function on supervisory and enforcement matters and assisted with complex rulemakings and the promulgation of regulatory guidance; he also advised the OCC’s Licensing staff on significant issues related to new bank formation, charter conversions, business combinations, and expansionary activities. He then spent six years at Discover Financial Services, where he was responsible for advising the company on corporate governance, prudential and consumer protection laws and regulations. He is deeply expert in banking, payments, digital assets, risk management, consumer compliance, regulatory strategy and enforcement.

Christina brought a similar combination of regulatory and corporate experience from over a decade as an FDIC bank examiner, where she served as a subject matter expert on new bank investigations, participated in Shared National Credit reviews, and oversaw supervision of numerous banks. Subsequently, she spent years working in the trenches of risk and compliance at Indymac, CapitalSource, and Green Dot, where she served as Chief Compliance Officer for several years as the company transformed from a simple provider of general purpose reloadable prepaid debit cards to a leading provider of banking as a service. Her work at Klaros has centered on consumer compliance, third-party risk management, and enterprise risk management.

These colleagues exemplify the qualities we look for in Klaros partners. They are deeply experienced, intellectually rigorous, passionate about great client service, consistently a delight to interact with, and deeply committed to the success of their colleagues and our firm. They’ve made huge contributions to our success thus far and we’re delighted to have them as partners in this adventure.
