Welcome, Robert Baldwin!

By now, most people in our industry could tell you that applying for a bank charter is just one chapter in a story, and that the chapter that follows, actually building the bank,  is longer and equally complex.

But a lot of them couldn’t tell you that the chapter that comes before the charter application, which we call bank strategy and design, is just as challenging to write as the two that follow it.

Robert Baldwin can - which is why we’re so happy to welcome him to Klaros and specifically to our bank strategy and design team.

Robert has over 20 years of experience in investment banking, capital markets, regulatory capital, credit risk, and asset-based lending, focused on specialty finance, financial services technology companies, and banks. 

Previously, Robert was a Lead Financial Risk and Capital Advisory Officer at Wells Fargo & Company, responsible for leading regulatory risk oversight and capital advisory of all Wells Fargo’s lines of business with securitization exposures, including its corporate and investment bank, investment portfolio, and commercial real estate businesses. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Robert was a Managing Director at Kent Moore Capital, LLC, an investment banking advisory firm focused on middle-market clients. Before that he was the Director of Capital Markets at CarePayment Technologies, Inc. a leading healthcare finance company. Within the Corporate and Investment Bank at Wells Fargo Securities LLC and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Robert was responsible for originating and executing secured and unsecured asset-backed warehouse lending facilities and term capital markets securitizations. He has structured and executed over $84 billion in debt capital markets and lending transactions over his career.
