We’re happy to kick off 2023 by welcoming two new senior advisors - Frank Mastrangelo and Kevin Stein.
Frank brings to Klaros decades of experience as a bank and fintech executive, board member and advisor. He currently serves on the boards of Cardless, U-Nest, Stronghold, and The Artemis Fund. He joins Klaros from Sapere Advisory, a consulting firm focused on commerce and fintech, where he was founder and managing director and an advisor to several fintech SPAC transactions. Before that he served as General Manager, Banking Services for Green Dot Corporation and COO of Green Dot Bank. Earlier in his career he spent more than 16 years at The Bancorp, Inc., where in roles including COO and CEO he led The Bancorp. to become a global leader in financial services and technologies. Bank Innovation, a leading industry journal, named him one of the 40 "Innovators to Watch," citing him as one of the thinkers shaping the future of financial services.
Kevin has over 30 years of corporate, strategic, regulatory, investment banking and board experience in the financial services industry. He currently serves on the boards of Pagaya Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: PGY), which he helped bring to the public markets through a SPAC, Dime Community Bancshares, Inc. (Nasdaq: DCOM) and Ocwen Financial Corp. (NYSE: OCN). After co-founding the business with KCK US, Inc., a family-controlled private equity firm, Kevin served as chief executive officer of Resolution Analytica Corp., a buyer of commercial judgments, He’s also been a managing director in the Financial Institutions Group of Barclays, a partner and group head of banks at FBR & Co., and an executive of GreenPoint Financial Corporation, a bank holding company. Kevin began his career at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation as an associate director.
In 2023 we anticipate our work for Klaros will focus on helping banks incorporate a commitment to innovation into a culture of regulation and compliance, and helping fintechs incorporate a commitment to regulation and compliance into a culture of innovation. Frank and Kevin’s expertise will be extremely valuable on both counts.
