Douglas Landy advises Klaros clients on a wide variety of financial services and fintech regulation, including stablecoin programs enabled by GENIUS.
Doug is one of the foremost financial services regulatory and fintech lawyers in the United States, with over 30 years’ experience in handling sensitive and important financial regulatory matters for the largest banks in the world. He is a former partner at White & Case LLP, where he was co-head of the Financial Institutions Industry Group and head of the U.S. financial services regulatory practice specializing in banking and securities law. He began his career as a staff attorney at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
Doug’s expertise spans issues such as prudential bank regulatory matters, insolvency concerns, and payment/settlement and clearing issues. He has advised banks, nonbanks, exchanges, and clearinghouses on the integration of blockchain technology into existing financial services transactions and payments, and nonbanks on their options for becoming regulated banking entities. He has chartered or licensed more than a dozen entities for banking in the U.S, and represented banks and investors in the regulatory aspects of over $200 billion of mergers and acquisitions.
He holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from Boston College Law School.
