Mary Dent | General Counsel & Senior Director

Mary Dent focuses on Board effectiveness, enterprise risk management, compliance, and operations, with a particular emphasis on the banking-as-a-service sector. 

Mary is an experienced executive and corporate board member. She has spent more than 30 years leading companies in the financial services and technology sectors, ranging from early stage startups to large, publicly traded global enterprises based in the United States and Europe.  

In addition to her roles with Klaros Group, Mary currently serves on two corporate boards: Banking Circle US, a provider of payments and banking services, and Woodruff Sawyer, one of the country's largest independently owned insurance brokers. Previously has served on the Boards of Vestwell Holdings, Green Dot/Green Dot Bank, Aspiration Financial, and SeedFi.  

As an executive, Mary has served in a variety of roles including CEO, General Counsel, COO/Global, and VP, Public Policy and has been responsible for business functions including legal, compliance, enterprise risk management, R&D, tax, and internal audit, for companies including Green Dot Bank, Silicon Valley Bank/SVB Financial Group, Insikt, and New Skies Satellites. 

In addition to her private sector work, Mary served as Counsel on the Senate Judiciary and Labor Committees.

Mary holds a BA in Economics from U.C.L.A. and a JD from Stanford Law School.
