Douglas Gleason | General Counsel

Douglas Gleason focuses on legal risk management in the banking and insurance contexts.

Douglas worked most recently as an attorney in private practice in Washington, D.C., focusing on legal risk management in the banking and insurance contexts. From 2015 to 2019, he was with Promontory Financial Group, where he served as a Director and consultant, addressing a wide range of issues for clients in the financial services sector while also providing support and assistance to the General Counsel and the Chief Compliance Officer. During 2011-2015, he was Of Counsel with The Potomac Law Group. From 2005 to 2010, he was Senior Vice President and in-house counsel at RRH Capital Management, a hedge fund. During 1999-2005, he served as a Managing Director at Legg Mason, Inc., where he opened and ran a representative office in Paris, France, for five and a half years. From 1997 to 1999, he was with Powervest, Inc., an energy-sector investment firm. During 1990-1997, he practiced law at Covington & Burling. Following law school, he clerked for Chief Judge L. Harrison Winter on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
 

Douglas received his BA in English and American Literature from Columbia College and his JD from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review.
